Reading and Learning Services for Kids in Sarasota, Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch FL

At Therapeutic Potential Inc, we believe in transforming challenges into triumphs through our expert reading intervention programs. Our programs tailored to recognize and address learning differences. There are Learning Differences, not learning disabilities! We also understand that these learning differences can make it more difficult for some children to engage in school or feel confident in their abilities.

By uncovering a child’s strengths and addressing their unique opportunities for improvement, our team helps kids of all ages rediscover the joy of learning and gain the skills and knowledge they need to feel successful in school and life.

Does my child have a learning difference?

About 1 in 5 kids in the United States have learning or thinking differences. The only way to know for sure whether your child has a learning difference is to speak with a licensed health care provider, such as your pediatrician or school psychologist. But a lot of the parents and caregivers we work with remember noticing several signs and symptoms in their child before there ever was a specific diagnosis.

At Therapeutic Potentials, Inc., through our specialized Reading Intervention programs, we guide children in carving unique paths to success. We recognize that these differences can present challenges in engaging with school or feeling confident in their abilities.

Here are some things you might notice if your child has a learning difference:

  • Dyslexia
  • Reading Delays
  • Reading Comprehension Difficulties
  • Reading Fluency
  • Spelling
  • Early Literacy Skill Development
  • Auditory Processing Disorders
  • Language Processing Delays
  • Word Finding
  • Organization and Problem Solving
  • Written Language
  • Figurative Language Concepts
  • Dysgraphia
  • Consultation with schools

Reading and Learning Therapy at TPI

Your child’s journey at TPI begins with an initial evaluation by one of our Reading and Learning Therapy experts. This initial evaluation is a one-on-one opportunity for us to get to know your child, identify their specific challenges when it comes to reading and learning, and help them describe and feel excited about their learning goals!

If therapy is warranted for your child, your child’s speech language therapist will then design a treatment plan that will help them develop necessary skills and explore their potential. We implement evidence-based tools and reading interventions that help kids gain confidence and become more adaptive and resilient within their learning environment.

We understand that parents and caregivers know their children best. That’s why we trust and honor your input (as well as your child’s input) as we work together to develop an appropriate reading intervention plan. We want your child to know how rewarding it can be to try hard things and develop new skills! That’s why we take the time to get to know your child’s interests and use innovative tools and strategies to help foster your child’s achievement in and out of school.

We also work in close collaboration with other providers involved in your child’s health and education, including occupational therapists, teachers and school counselors. Whether your child has a formal Individualized Education Program (IEP) or simply needs some additional learning support, our trained professionals are prepared to enhance your child’s academic experience and overall well-being.
